Jaguars News · Phase 1 Protocol

September 11, 2020

Seckman High School Families,

You may be aware that this week Jefferson County moved into the Red Level of the county’s COVID Guidance Indicator. The Red Level indicates the “substantial, uncontrolled spread” of COVID-19. Based on this guidance, the District has moved back to Phase 1 of the Fox C-6 Spectator Guidelines. These guidelines were developed in conjunction with JCHD and input was gathered from our coaches as we finalized the phases of this plan.

While in Phase 1, we will still have athletes on the field and court, cheerleaders on the sidelines, and performances by the Marching Band and Jag Swag as they are already scheduled. Phase 1 of the District’s spectator guidelines calls for no spectators in attendance at events; however, to honor our seniors, all senior participants in an athletic event will receive 2 guest tickets to that athletic event while the District remains in Phase 1 of the spectator guidelines. This includes senior athletes, cheerleaders, marching band members, and dance team members who are participating in that event. Other areas of campus including the parking lots, common areas, and practice fields will remain closed to the public so we can minimize the gathering of groups.

In order to give all family members and fans the opportunity to cheer on the Jaguars, we are having all Freshmen, JV and Varsity games streamed live on Prepcasts.

We recognize that this is an inconvenience for families who want to support our student-athletes and their hard work on and off the field. As high school leaders, watching our students participate in any activity and seeing all the fan support is truly one of the most enjoyable parts of being a high school administrator. However, I do request that families and fans follow these guidelines to help slow the transmission of COVID-19.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work together to support our student-athletes and cheer the Jaguars on to victory!

Respectfully,

Mr. Jeff Krutzsch, Seckman Senior High School Principal

Mr. Ryun Kasten, Seckman Senior High School Athletic Director
